3D Printing with RepRap or Mendel – Open Hardware

Sorry for the long pause since my last blog posting. I have been quite busy to build my new 3D printer. Actually I have build several of them to test various printing methods and concepts.

imageOriginally I found the RepRap initiatve and I was immediately impressed by this community that has gathered around the idea of building an open source/hardware self replicating 3D printer overall several years. They have started with a simple Cartesian printer long a ago and meanwhile have advanced to a nice generation II (Mendel) printer providing reliable printing capabilities.

I thought it might be valuable for you to share some of my learning and insights from this project of the last year to help you to build your printer with less pain and much faster.
